Supper Time
My sister has the best dining furniture in her place. When we’re round for supper we have amazing food and have lots of fun, frequently staying there late in to the wee hours, but I invariably feel a bit jealous of her dining furniture in point of fact, her entire abode is beautiful, perhaps because her husband is extremely wealthy.
He is a great bloke however, therefore I do not think she married him for his cash. Well not only for the cash, at least!
Every time I host a dinner party, I find that I don’t own sufficient dining room chairs. I ought to quit sending invites to so many people. The thing is that I invariably cook excessive amounts of food, so I need plenty of friends to scoff it. I’m unfailingly happy when there are many folk around my dining table, feasting on a casserole or a bolognese. Tasty food and a bit of great chat is a blueprint for a tremendous evening. Though a little alcohol also helps!
I have been having a look at dining room tables this year, because ours is becoming quite old. The table was clearly well-designed, since it still looks fairly good, but that doesn’t stop me hoping for a new one.
As a result of the recession, there are lots of great discounts to be found nowadays.
I could not stretch to a new table otherwise.
A selection of the dining sets I have noticed are going at half-price, which sounds like a really excellent deal to me.
The next time I have people round for dinner, I am planning to prepare meze to begin with. It is good since everyone is able to sample all the varied things. To follow we will have chicken, fried in chilli and wine, with fennel and dolmades.
For sweet, it’ll have to be apple pie, and maybe a cheeseboard. Here’s hoping everybody will be bringing their appetites.
