Standing out at Career Faires

Auto Date Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Standing out at a Job Fair can make a difference in your job hunting. Job Fairs are starting to pick up, and a major job search company is running some nice ones, called Targeted Job Fairs. At a San Jose Area Job Fair in early 2010, 10 companies as showing up, and a major job search company has 82 career fairs scheduled for this year across the United States.

How do you compete at a Career Fair? The competition can be noteworthy, but you can help yourself stick out from the bunch with advance planning. At AA-Careers, we have a simple 6-step process to get ready. Planning to go? Here’s how to prepare:

First, investigate the companies that are going and pick your targets. Use the internet to check out the companies that are there before you go. Go to their internet sites and see if they have their jobs posted. Pick a reasonable number to target, and get ready to spend an hour or more researching each one. It’s hard to do more than ten in a day, and four or five is a much more reasonable target. For each hiring organization, you want to know: recent news, key product lines, and contacts you know. Try to see if you know anyone at the target companies. You should end up with a page or two of research for each company/job.

Second, if there are job postings on the web, read them to see what the hiring department is looking for. Create a mapping of your achievements and skills to the demands of the job. Make the nomenclature match. If the hiring company calls customers "clients", your resume should do the same thing. The accomplishments should be written in the style of the hiring organization.

Third, create a ‘short sales pitch’ for each likely organization/position combination. Write down a ninety second ‘thumbnail’ that you can repeat verbally depicting why you are a great prospect for that position. You’ll use this in your resume and when you meet people at the job kiosk.

Fourth, modify your resume for each opportunity. The objective on your resume should exactly match the position you’re targeting. The executive summary should be a written form of your “mini sales pitch” for the job. Then choose the accomplishments and skills that most clearly match the job requirements. Especially at a Career Fair, the purpose of your resume is a sales tool for you – to get you on-site job interviews. It should be simple to see that you’re a match based on your resume.

Fifth, dress and prepare as if you’re doing on-site interviews. Dress nicely and be properly groomed. Don’t over do-it (this isn’t a date!) and don’t underdress (no jeans or t-shirts, no matter how much you paid for them). Avoid strong cologne or perfume.

Finally, practice your ‘mini-sales-pitch’. Collect your research and the resume for each spot - bring a couple of copies for each – and put each in a understandably tagged folder. Keep them in a lightweight briefcase or folio.

Remember to smile, and good hunting!

BuyingProperty in Spain: the Legal Process Explained

Auto Date Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Youve found the house and negotiated a price. Youve arranged your Spanish mortgages All there is to do now is complete the purchase. How?

It is in your best interest to hire an English-speaking lawyer to assist you in the process of purchasing regulated Spanish property. Make sure that the Spanish property is free of restrictive clauses and debts.

The legal process for buying a Spanish property falls into two different categories. First you have the preliminary contract, or Contrato privado de compraventa, and then you have the completion contract, or Escritura de compraventa.

A preliminary individual sale bill should be signed after both sides agree to the cost. Before this Contrato privado de compraventa has been signed, however, the vendor needs to be able to provide proof that he or she owns the property, and that it is free of any charges. The purchaser must pay the debts of their property as part of their %LINK2% agreement. Nota Simple determins which properties contain overdue debts.

The preliminary sales contract will be drawn up to contain all of the necessary details including the date of completion, the purchase price and the description of the property. A 5% to 15% deposit of the final purchase price will be required. These funds will be held for you in a bonded client account. A person would theoretically be able to sign the initial sales contract without a deposit, but it isn’t necessarily a good idea.

The ultimate stage is the decond stage only as it will decide the future of the contract. It is also known as Escritura de compraventa stage. On the completion date, the balance of the price of purchase and all fees need to be paid by the purchaser. Both the vendor and the buyer must sign the contract at the same time. This contract is equivalent to a deed on the purchased property. The buyer will be provided the public deed of conveyance, also referred to in Spain as the escritura, in the presence of a Notary Public. A photocopy of the deed will be provided to the tax official and property registrat to ensure everything is legitimate. If you are in Spain, a Notary Public will be required as a witness on you deed of sale. Don’t just rely in that, though. You will want to have your own lawyer to keep your best interests foremost throughout the proceeeding. While buying any property do remember that property sales taxes and legal fees for the Notary Public is also to be paid by you only.

Choosing Debt Arbitration

Auto Date Friday, September 4th, 2009

You would perhaps be awed at the total number of families that deal with money issues in their lifetime. For that reason, unrecoverable debt will likely creep up. A person can sometimes deal with these setbacks because of loss of job, divorce, abrupt death of a family or just plain poor personal financial supervision. Small businesses usually run into these difficulties within the initial few years of business. To blame for a business bankruptcy can span from increased competition, accidents, loss of important accounts to distinguish and more. No matter the origin, bad-debt might lead to bankruptcy. , there are alternatives to bankruptcy that can lessen damage to your personal credit and your company credit.

Insolvency can be defined as a lack of ability of a person or a corporation to pay back the financial obligations owed to a credit granter. If or when an individual files, the defaulter is made to to release all unexempt assets and property for elimination. While private items are protected, you also promise a definite share of your attained salary to the creditors based upon a decided repayment agreement. Your FICO rating will become low for a while, meaning that you will not be able to acquire funding for whatever private or commercial enterprise for a extended period of time.

The head aches and tenseness stimulated because of these undischarged fiscal obligations can be distressing, to say the least, especially when a idea of filing financial dissolution crawls into your head. In these positions, it remains key to remember that you own alternatives. It is great to search out the alternatives, such as a fiscal consultant who can make a debt settlement plan for you.

perhaps you are inquiring why a creditor will want to work with yourself to resolve the debt remember that negotiation is an substitute for them as well. In particular insolvancy judgments a lending institution holding nonsecured debt might get nothing at all. Nevertheless, after a account holder makes out a resolution the lender can recoup at least percentage, if not all, of the debt they possess. Think about too that when totaling up the interest that has been sent in already along with the late penalties and beyond limit fees the lenders may have possibly billed, the creditor could be satisfied even before the debt liquidation.

Debt resolution can be an extremely advantageous alternative compared with insolvancy for you, as a private citizen or a business owner. Particularly when you take the future into account. Insolvency should be fended off at all costs considering the fact that borrowing will be nearly unimaginable for any individual or business concerns you may have at a later date. On that point, there is not much of a clean slate; insolvancy hangs around wherever you go. Regardless of what kind of debt you have acquired, initially seek a debt resolution program as the preferred selection when contemplating insolvency.

Strategies to Deal with Difficult Children

Auto Date Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Parenting is difficult but when difficult children are involved parents need to be even more careful in dealing with them. It is important for parents to remember that most children have an innate temperament. This can range from easygoing to difficult. Children may be born difficult or may develop such a temperament in their early years. In addition, even easygoing children have their bad days. Parenting is difficult in such situations too.

A little bit of understanding, guidance, and care goes a long way while dealing with difficult children. Here are a few tips for parents with difficult children:

1) Appreciate the strengths of the child as often as possible.

2) Practice what you preach. Parenting is difficult when parents themselves indulge in name-calling such as troublemaker, problem child, etc.

3) Always make sure that the child adapts to a specific routine for eating and sleeping.

4) Empathy is key in understanding when a tantrum is about to arise. In such situations, patience goes a long way.

5) Do not give the child too many choices to make when it comes to eating, watching television, or any other suitable circumstance.

6) Keeping the home quiet, calm and comfortable reduces hyperactive behaviour in most children.

7) Parenting is difficult when parents do not listen to their children’s needs. If the child does not like to eat a type of food do not force him to do so.

8) Help the child come out of temper tantrums instead of aggravating it with harsh words.

9) Always encourage the child to share, play with others, negotiate, and trade ideas.

10) Always have clear rules for the child to follow.
