Are you aware of how totally a genuine software revolution has completely changed the face of hospitality and air travel in recent years? The man to thank is New Jersey’s own Mr Nicholas Bredimus. This creative man has found work in a number of areas, from the high-value home design sector via the essentials of safety in the air to software programs to save manpower and time. And what’s more, in each case, his passion is evident.

It could be foreseen, however, that given his pedigree he was a sure bet to rise to distinction. His line can trace its origins as far back as the time of Rome’s glory and proudly boasts a broad mix of nationalities. The maternal line comes out of Germany and Scotland. A similarly wide mix stands out in the paternal line; prior to their emigration in the late 1800s, the family dwelt in Luxembourg and England. Even following emigration to America, they retained their work ethic and determination to go far. Part of a family of seven children — four girls and three boys — Nicholas would be born to a father working as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a nurse. Mr Bredimus went on to live in the Lone Star State for a while and also spent time in Kansas City, MO, Scottsdale, AZ and Reston, VA.

What, you might ask, did he do with his pedigree and schooling? He would soon embark on a string of high-powered jobs, all as part of major airlines. These included the title of Vice President for Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and Republic Airlines. Nevertheless, above all the airline industry has felt the need to be thankful for the work he has conducted in software design. His trailblazing innovations in the field of aircraft maintenance management computer programs, now employed throughout the air travel business although initially programmed for one specific firm, ultimately led to what is still his most popular piece. But this stands as only one of his standout innovations for the hotel business and for airlines. His flight booking software is on its way to joining the aforementioned program in ubiquity, and his room reservation routine enabled many hotels to switch over to a pc client based infrastructure. He also designed QuikTix, an electronic ticket sales network.

Nicholas Bredimus has also been appointed to several positions entirely unconnected to software design, keep in mind. Mr Bredimus worked as manager for American Express’ important IT wing, launched Bredimus Systems in the early nineties, and became the inaugural president of American Airlines’ AMR Travel Services.

Nowadays Bredimus has departed from his airline connections and from coding, though rest assured he’s still making best use of his mind. Look for his work now mastering building design — blending the needs of comfort with increasingly sophisticated technology and true environmental interests.
