Horizon Data Center Solutions Introduces FlexSafe Cloud
Horizon Data Center Solutions, a Dallas-based data center and IT flexsourcing company has just announced the launch of the FlexSafe Cloud, the company’s new cloud computing platform. The new product is said to be Horizon Data Center’s version of a more secure approach to cloud computing to address the needs of businesses and organizations that are looking for scalability and flexibility at more affordable costs of virtualization while at the same time enjoying the benefits of a private computing platform.
FlexSafe Cloud is the company’s way of filling the gap in the marketplace, offering a flexible and full-service IT outsourcing solutions to serve enterprise clients and small and medium-scale businesses. Horizon pioneered the said concept through the DCFlexSpace Colocation model which has been expanding IT services to keep up with the demand.
According to Horizon, the new cloud platform will offer immediate benefits for SaaS companies, financial firms, government agencies, e-commerce businesses that encounter fluctuating transaction volumes and practically any entity that is looking for greater cost savings and efficient virtualization without compromising security.
According to Chuck Smith, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, while a definition for cloud computing is still subject to debate, the company has decided to adopt the working definition of the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). For the company, the key characteristics of cloud computing include on-demand self-service, scalability of resources, access to a ubiquitous network and a pay as you use set up.
Smith also added that FlexSafe Cloud is a highly scalable platform that is designed according to Horizon’s infrastructure as a service offering. The company has decided to pursue private clouds as a venture because public cloud providers such as Google and Amazon are already doing a great job on the public platform industry.
